An engineering company with turnover in excess of ten million pounds had grown significantly over the years and the owner managers recognised that their business needed to significantly change direction to cope in an increasingly tough market.
With e-FM contracted to manage the finance function of the company, the assigned FD recognised that a different skill set was needed to lead the business forward, and recommended that the owners hire a dedicated and industry specialist Managing Director.
Once this proposition was approved, e-FM developed a detailed specification of the clients’ requirements and matched this to a long list of potential candidates, supplied by partner company Mature Accountants.
After individually screening the candidates, and proactively managing series of interviews, a high calibre MD was unanimously selected. This successful candidate was fully referenced, had strong personal characteristics and experience, and was appointed as the new Interim Managing Director for an initial period of 12 months. Through rapid response by both IMTB partner companies, potential candidates were recommended within two days and the whole process had the right interim in appointed within 6 weeks.
